Boy Scouts of America Troop 220 of Oregon City, Oregon turns 100! The oldest BSA Troop in the Cascade Pacific Council is celebrating 100 consecutive years as a continually Chartered Boy Scout Troop. Originally Chartered by the 1st Presbyterian Church in June of 1918, Oregon City's Troop 220 has successfully been serving the community and creating strong future leaders through their organized BSA program for 100 years. Now Chartered by VFW Post 1324 of Oregon City, the Troop has 20 active Scouts and has had scores of Scouts earn the Eagle rank over it's century of service, with more achieving this prestigious honor every year. The Troop participates in many regular outdoor activities and assists with numerous community service projects throughout the calendar year. Activities such as leading the community Easter egg hunt at a local city park, setting out flags for Memorial Day festivities at Mt View Cemetery, school grounds clean-ups, flag ceremonies for local organizations and flag retirement ceremonies with its VFW Charter partner, to name a few. To celebrate this milestone anniversary, Troop 220 is holding an Open House of grand proportions on Saturday, Jun 23rd of this year.
